KVS 005       Mac Jones                           Tribute To Bob Marley/Jah Woman            1988

Considering that Bob Marley died in May 1981, it took a while - seven years to be exact - for this tribute to be released in East Africa. I’m not even sure, given the label reference to Teal Records of Zambia, whether it even is a Kenyan release, although it certainly was on sale in the country. Even weirder, the only references I’ve been able to find about the record or the artist have been on Polish and Portuguese websites. Not knowing either language, all I can add is that it is definitely a reggae tune and appears to have had a 12-in release in Portugal.

If anyone knows more about the artist, do let me know. In the meantime, thanks to Sofiane of Groovy Record in Paris for supplying the label scan and record information in March 2011.
